Our founding story
In 2006, Anne Sorensen (Danish) and Eduardo Montanares (born in Chile but came to Denmark when he was 16) arrived from Denmark and made a 3-month tour throughout Chile and fell in love with Santa Cruz. They returned the following year to acquire 4 hectares from the Laura Hartwig vineyard and in 2008 they finally moved to Santa Cruz to build the hotel of their dreams in the middle of the vineyard. Hotel TerraViña opened its doors in January 2010.
In March 2018 they added the Los Poetas Restaurant which is now dedicated to corporate gatherings, weddings and other group events. Together with their team, they work to ensure that all guests visiting the Colchagua Valley have an enjoyable stay. They offer a first-class service, characterized by a very personalized guest experience. We take pride in ensuring that our guests get to know the best our beautiful valley has to offer.
Our property
Santa Cruz is located in traditional, rural Chile and Hotel TerraViña’s architecture aims to represent the essence of the valley. Consequently, the design is rustic and focused on details such as colonial-style ceramics and wooden floors, beams and doors.
Relax in one of our 19 rooms each with a balcony overlooking the vineyards with a view of the Andes Mountains. Get lost in our vineyard and walk among the vines to reach an old family winery or one of the two restaurants in the vineyard. All TerraViña staff are at your disposal to help you have a pleasant stay.
